Huey, 19 years old, is Saint Louis' newest rapper to emerge from the underground scene and make it big. Previously known as Baby Huey, Huey burned up the airwaves in Saint Louis and around the country with his hit single "Pop Lock and Drop It" over the past year.
The success Huey has gained from "Pop Lock and Drop It" as well as from his collaborations with other up and coming artists such as Gena from East Saint Louis on Gena's track "Bang" has brought Huey to the top of his game.
The video for "Pop Lock and Drop It" which can be viewed by clicking on the video to the right features a guest apperance by the other young rapper to make it big outta the STL, Jibbs.
If anyone from Saint Louis deserves to get national attention, it is Huey. He has been featured on Nelly's Pimp Juice website , as well as recently recording a verse with Chris Brown for his remix to his hit single Poppin'.
Recently Huey formed the group "The Camp Boyzz" which is comprised of Kydd Trel, Money, Huey, and Marco Polo.
Huey's mainstream debut album is intitled "The Notebook Paper." "The Notebook Paper" is packed with singles and features artists such as the Young Bloodz, Yo Gotti, and T Pain. In addition to these appearances, the production on the album consists of producers such as the Saint Louis legends Trackboyz and Jazze Pha.
As Huey says on his myspace page,"It’s a new St. Louis and that’s what I’m about to show err’body.”
