Joell Ortiz is quickly making a name for himself in the nationwide rap scene, being signed to Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment. Joell Ortiz is from Brooklyn, New York, and he is bringing back real New York hip hop with his tracks. He has already recorded with KRS-One and
Kool G. Rap.

He recently won the EA sports freestyle battle contest which can be viewed above, as well as his single "Hip Hop" off of his up coming album "The Brick (Bodega Chronicles)".

His album, "The Brick (Bodega Chronicles)" is set to be released on April 24, 2007. This album will feature artists such as Big Noyd, M.O.P., Akon, and Immortal Technique to name a few.
